July 2015 Firm Happenings

  • On June 29, 2015, Brody and Associates was a sponsor of the annual Jeremy Saxe Golf Tournament which supports the Jiwanko Saathiharu: Jeremy Saxe Foundation for Education and Development, Inc. The Foundation is committed to improving educational opportunities for children in Nepal. Robert Brody joined fellow colleagues and friends for a day of golf, delicious food, and good company.
  • On July 10, 2015 Abby Warren spoke as a panelist at the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce Human Resource Council Panel presentation on Employee Handbooks. Abby provided legal expertise to the panel discussion on this rapidly changing landscape involving the basics of preparing and updating Employee Handbooks, recent developments involving changes from the National Labor Relations Board, and whether an Employee Handbook helps or hurts employers.
  • On July 16, 2015, Alex Friedman and Robert Brody partnered with the Human Resource team at a quick-service industry client to review the HR practices of their rapidly growing business. Collectively, they identified opportunities of improvement and discussed best practices that will support the Company as it expands across the country.
  • On July 19, 2015, after winning Districts, Divisionals, and Sectionals, Westport’s 12 and under girls All Stars Softball team placed second in Connecticut. This All Star team went further than any other 12 and under girls Westport team. Susan Westphal’s daughter was the team’s starting center fielder and her husband was a coach. Two of the team members were on a travel softball team sponsored by Brody and Associates. Congratulations to the coaches and players; they made Westport proud for their sportsmanship as well as their amazing quality of play.
