  • From January 29th -31st, John Woyke will be attending the World Captive Forum Conference in Miami.  The World Captive Forum is one of the longest running international captive insurance conferences and is a chance for those involved in the captive insurance industry to exchange ideas and network. John has been a presenter at this conference in past years on the use of captive insurance companies in providing employee benefits and will be attending to learn more about how captive insurance companies can help employers under the Affordable Care Act.

  • On January 21st, Abby Warren attended BLR’s 2014 Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) Master Class.   This class covered recent developments related to FMLA including how the recent U.S. Supreme Court Decision on the Defense against Marriage Act affects the law.

  • On January 26th, Abby Warren attended the “Chocolate to the Rescue” charity event organized by The Columbus House.  New Haven area restaurants and bakeries presented different chocolate delicacies to benefit Columbus House’s Middlesex Family Shelter.  The Columbus House is a non-profit organization that works to end homelessness in the New Haven area.  Brody and Associates contributes to support The Columbus House’s hard work.
